THE INITIATIVE has been created in order to ignite community activity and serve as a platform for a powerful social bond to be created within local communities regardless of race, gender, colour and creed. THE INITIATIVE is a collaboration between ARCARNA COLLECTVE SOCIETY and THE MGEN FOUNDATION

About the event
THE INITIATIVE @ GOLDEN HARVEST PARK (10:00am - 1:00pm)
Golden Harvest Park, 1st Rd, Northgate.
10:00am Stall set-up at Golden Harvest Park begins.
- Food Making Station: Goal of making 80+ meal-packs (healthy sandwich, fruit, water).
- Park clean-up: Volunteers will be given plastic bags and gloves to pick up rubbish lying around the park.
- Soup Station: free cup of soup for everyone.
- Donations station: boxes for clothing, toiletries, and blankets, as well as cooler boxes for food + meal packs.
- *Knitting Station: a 67 Blankets volunteer will be teaching volunteers to knit squares to donate to their foundation.
1:00pm: Clean-up and pack-up all stalls.
THE INITIATIVE MEAL-PACK MAKING (2:00pm-3:30pm)
Please ask for details if you would like to volunteer for meal-pack making.
2:00pm Food making begins
- Food Making continues (with goal of making 80+ meal-packs)
- Donations station: boxes for clothing, toiletries, and blankets, as well as cooler boxes for food + meal packs.
3:30pm: Finish food making, pack-up meal-packs and donations and leave for Tower of Life Shelter.
THE INITIATIVE @ TOWER OF LIFE SHELTER (from 4pm-)
45 Rissik St, Krugersdorp.
4:00pm Set-up for serving meal-packs begins.
- Serving of meal-packs for the 80-100 men at Tower of Life Shelter.
- Distributing of donations (clothes, toiletries, blankets) within the Tower of Life Shelter.
