Why 67 you ask? Many have and continue to fight tirelessly for a free and just society, one who stand out is Nelson Mandela. He and others spent 67 years fighting for social justice. The idea that each and every one of us has the ability to make a difference and transform the world for the better is the driving force behind the initiative. every year on the 18th of July - the day Nelson Mandela was born - the UN asks individuals around the world to mark Mandela day by making a difference in their communities for at 67 minutes. So we at the C O L L E C T V E are asking you to start your 67 years with a mere 67 minutes.


The Golden Harvest Park will be open to individuals and corporates that wish to get involved. This initiative will be open from 10h00 to 15h00 on Wednesday the 18th of July 2018.

You can be part of this by doing the following:

  • Register to become a member of the FOGHP here.

  • Assisting with your time on the day to serve others.

  • Donating items which are not being used in your office or home.

Choose your contribution from the list below:

  1. 67 minutes of hands-on help in the park. Volunteers will be directed by qualified horticulturist members.

  2. Appreciation for Service staff - Firemen, Police, Security Personnel and Care-givers. Mid-morning tea, light lunch, and afternoon tea. Co-ordination and assistance with preparation of sandwiches and boerewors rolls - serving approx. 100pax.

  3. Donate magazines, books, linen or art to an under-resourced home for the elderly. These will be donated to an Old Age Home.

  4. Stationary packs (pens, stickers, coloured paper, scissors, etc.) for teachers at an under-resourced school in the area

  5. Books for schools and libraries in the area - Collect and distribute children's books to under-resourced schools. Bring them to the park and we will deliver to schools

  6. Old/unused clothes for those without will be collected and distributed via charities in surrounding communities

  7. Perishable food or groceries which will be collected and distributed to charities in surrounding communities identified by Hot 91.9 Radio station

  8. Create and donate any piece of artistic work. Be it art, music or literature. all are accepted.
